Ducktails, Raveonettes, The Big Pink, The XX, Golden Silvers, Shudder to Think

9/22/09 Adds. No bios included!

WOW. The new Golden Silvers record is quite amazing. It's so beautiful! It's so dancey! It's so depressing! It's everything a fantastic album should be. It's so refreshing, diverse, and unique from many other albums that have been released this year. Apparently if you like the big pink, hockey, or jack penate, you'd be a fan of Golden Silvers. I'm not a fan of any of those bands and I still dig the album, so even if the only thing on your ipod is Minor Threat and the Spice Girls discography, you still might love for Golden Silvers in your big musical heart.

Another fantastic add this week is the Ducktails record, Landscapes! And it's a 12" vinyl with really sick sleeve art. A dude named Todd owns the record label Olde English Spelling Bee, which he distributes records from his apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Ducktails is an experimental solo project from Matt Mundane of Real Estate. It definitely has a Real Estate-y vibe to his jamz. Definitely try and listen to this record and if you don't, be sure to check out the love and art that went into making this sweet vinyl. I love jamz. I love Ducktails jamz.

So there's been a lot of hype about the new Big Pink record. I chose to ignore it, but now that I've finally listened to it, it's insanely good! It's another pretty record from 4AD (the label that brought you St. Vincent and Camera Obscura). It's actually quite nice and builds beautifully. What ever that may mean. Velvet is a good jam.

So I really wish I didn't like XX by the XX on XL. It's such a great sounding album. The production is really very fantastic, so check it out! I will surely be playing it on my show although I'm not fond of their jamz. It just sounds so good and crisp and it's a bit addicting, but I'll pretend otherwise.

Check These Jamz Out:

Shudder To Think - Live From Home - Team Love - This vocalist has an amazing voice! The band is easy to listen to alternative rock that sounds pretty main stream. You know if shizz could sound mainstream. Give them a listen now! http://www.myspace.com/shuddertothinkband

Raveonettes - In and Out of Control - VICE - It's sweet and ultra poppy. I especially dig Heart of Stone. It's definitely one of my favorite jamz from this record, probably one of the only jamz I'm feeling. It's such a good jam, though, that it potentially saves this record from being too poppy for my taste.
