So there's this dude called Julian Casablancas. Nothing spectacular. He was frontman for some band called the Strokes; I'm not surprised if you've never heard of this band. Well, I honestly didn't want to like his jamz, simply because they've infected the world wide web. But they're righteously delicious. Pretty catchy and fun. Check out his jamz now on his myspace machine: http://www.myspace.com/juliancasablancas
There's going to be this documentary about this wonderful writer called Kerouac. Ben Gibbard and Jay Farrar worked together to write sweet original songs for the soundtrack, some of which include lyrics taken from one of his novels. The Middle East are quite excellent if you're looking to take a long phenomenal nap. It's like Cold Play on some downers. It is kind of beautiful, though. The vocal harmonies that will put you into a heavenly sleep includes the voices of six handsome Australian men. If you like the new Volcano Choir record, you might enjoy this. If you'd like to listen to their beautiful jamz, check out their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/visitthemiddleeast
Maps makes pretty jamz that remind me of the Big Pink. I guess along the lines of electronica jamz? Not really feeling the vocals. They creep me out. The intrumentals are pretty spiffy, though. I feel like Kenyon would digg the techno aspect of their music. HINT KENYON HINT HINT. And George. Hmm as I listen to their myspace tracks more, I think they're growing on me despite the creepy vocals. Check out their jamz hurr: http://www.myspace.com/mapsmusic
