When you think of excellent local bands that play great shows and make great music and LOVE and support their local music scene, you immediately think of the Eskalators and if you don't, you should. There's probably about a thousand people who make up this wonderful band that I would categorize as omni-genre-ous. I just can't figure out what genre their music falls into. Regardless of the genre, their music is awesome catchy fun. And the Eskalators are responsible for plenty of community oriented events that are music in it's rawest and purest form and insanely inspirational. They are responsible for the infamous subway shows where music heads from all over the tri-state area gather in a single subway car and make lots of noise and music and sing along and dance together. They are also the founders of the only all age DIY three day festival in NYC called Hillstock which has all kinds of awesome bands from all over play! The Eskalators are awesome and their new EP is in CR1 and you should check them out.
