There's a new band from the west coast that just released their debut LP on Frenchkiss records. Gorilla Manor sounds like a funkier John Mayer with better instrumentals than anything that's ever been on a John Mayer record. I wish I could tell you more, but life is better when there are surprises! "Wide Eyes" is a song that made me think I liked Local Natives but I then decided I can't do the John Meyer-ish vocals. There's one song on Gorilla Manor that is absolutely amazing and it's called "Stranger Thread" and folks like Good News Radio and Think Out Loud would surely enjoy this tune. Who knows, you might enjoy it, too! It's a wonderful pop jam with lots of swoops and things like that. Check it out! Now! This song actually changed my mind about Local Natives and maybe now, I'll find a spot for them in my big juicy heart.
