Jam of The Day: Mumford and Sons - Roll Away Your Stone

CMJ week was probably the worst week of my whole life. I felt like a lost puppy. More specifically, I felt like a lost, diseased, flea infested, beaten, puppy. CMJ is kind of exclusive in a way that neglects any one and all of those who are under the tender age of 21. It was pretty terrible. Thank god most Bowery Presents venues neglect only those below the age 0f 18. That being said, I spent almost every night of CMJ in the Music Hall of Williamsburg which I actually grew to like after some time. I think I went specifically to see Phantogram, who at the time, had released one of the best EPs from 2009. Well, Mumford and Sons were playing, too, and they were fucking fantastic. They all stood in a line playing all of these wonderful instruments and it was like a scene from Oh Brother Where Art Thou? They were really great. When I found out their LP, Sigh No More, was actually being worked to radio; I was pretty excited about it. This is why Roll Away Your Stone is the jam of the day. This is the one song I remember seeing them perform and being like DAMN DIS IS GEWD. If you haven't had the chance to check out their album released on Glass Note Records, GET ON IT. THEY SO GOOD. And they look good.
