Dizzy Eyes / Let's Break Up The Band

Hardly Art is becoming a monstrous beast at producing some pretty fantastic singles. They're continuing the trend into the new year with some pretty amazing releases from Boston's Colleen Green and some Canadian band I'd never heard of called Dizzy Eyes. Colleen Green I'm still on the fence with, but this single from Dizzy Eyes is an obvious gold nugget. Check out their new single, "Let's Break Up The Band," coming soon to a 7" near you. It's straight up great pop music. Feels good. Definitely going to be my thawing out anthem for the Spring.

Fergus & Geronimo / Michael Kelly

Not really in the mood to write, but I’ve been meaning to post something from Unlearn for a while now. I think I’m mostly afraid I’ll get it all wrong like the NY Times or something. Fergus & Geronimo makes music that feels really good that totally confuses me when it comes to genre-fying it. Michael Kelly is a kind of mellow, terribly depressing jam that feels like an entirely different beast than the other tracks. Totally rules, but I have no idea how to describe it. Anyway, there’s such a sweet variety of vibes from track to track, that something on Unlearn is bound to make you pee yourself. It’s mostly just good, so ignore what I’ve written and just jam the track. Feeling too good right now.

Golden Triangle @ Knitting Factory

The lovely debut LP from Brooklyn art punks, Golden Triangle, is fucking fantastic! If you haven't checked out Double Jointer yet, your life probably isn't that great, or isn't at it's potential greatness. Their live set was far more wonderful than I had ever expected! Check out the videos here:

Jam of The Day: Unnatural Helpers - Sunshine / Pretty Girls

Unnatural Helpers are a punk band from Seattle, Washington that have just released a bunch of succulent singles on a fancy 7". You can check out their new LP which will be released very very soon (April 27th)! "Sunshine / Pretty Girls" is a minute and fifty five seconds of pure punk confection. If you're not excited for their upcoming LP, you're simply a fool. It'll be a day that you'll pee yourself with pure ecstasy.

Alice Cohen!

So today I was sitting in my car listening to Talbot Tagora and it was quite wonderful. I remember when they played with Abe Vigoda almost a year ago. It was a pretty sweet show! Anyway, I never realized that Alice Cohen made a video using spot motion collage animation for "Icthus Hop." (!) That's insane! It's truly an awesome work of art and if you guys haven't checked out Alice Cohen, I believe there is a 12" hanging out in CR1. Watch this amazing video and listen to the sweet jam!

Moving Images: Golden Triangle - Neon Noose

So, if you haven't listened to Golden Triangle, now is your chance! Sometimes you probably wonder, what would it sound like if the Brady Bunch kids actually passed the age of puberty and formed an awesome garage band in Brooklyn? Well, this is probably something close to what they would sound like. You should also check out their upcoming Double Jointer release party at Market Hotel on a Saturday that falls on either March 5th or March 6th. I'll let you decide the date. They're playing with the sandwitches and it will be epic. I'd be there, except I think Titus Andronicus have their Moniter release show that night. Battle of the epic releases of 2010. You can also check them out on April 1st at Knitting Factory which I believe is also all-ages and relatively cheap. Check out this awesome video just recently released on the Fork of Pitch:
