In September, I brought "Light Lightning" to all of you wonderful people and surprisingly enough, many of you played it on your shows. Well, Truman Peyote just got better and are releasing a bunch of amazing, mind-fucking songs on WhiteHaus Family Records. The split 12" called Peace Together is set to release sometime this month and it's already been added to our digital collection, but I will also burn a copy for CR1 so you can play the shit out of it. What initially drew me into these two dudes from Boston was a show they played way back in May at Death By Audio. I just saw them there again last night and it was a totally different set, but still amazing. Truman Peyote is fucking awesome and if you enjoyed Animal Collective, Netherfriends, Teengirl Fantasy, or that last Truman Peyote release, you'll love this. I think the songs are much better than those on Light Lightning and those were pretty great, too. And I will definitely try to get the other side from Many Mansions.
"Kartwheels" is a new song on "Peaced Together
"New Wife New Life" was an awesome song from "Light Lightning"
Tanlines are a pretty sweet duo from Brooklyn who are releasing a new LP on True Panther sounds pretty soon. Well, we can't get that yet, but we've got a couple of older jamz to hold onto until then! They make layers of fun dancey jamz.
The Hussy is an awesome lo-fi garage band from Wisconsin. There's actually a little story behind this. Rock and Roll Dance Party plays really obscure hard to find lo-fi garage rock and it's kind of amazing and friend of the band mentioned it to them that some radio show from NY had played their music and then they sent me an email inquiring about it and sending some music because the song R&R Dance Party played was a demo and they were quite amazed that he somehow obtained this demo. WUSB really has the best radio shows, that's really the only answer I see making any sense here. Anyway I checked them out and they were really quite great and now they're in the digital stuff and just like Tanlines and Truman Peyote, soon enough you'll be able to find them on a CD.
