Acid Baby Jesus / Losing It

How can I express the excitement one experiences when they realize that Acid Baby Jesus can now be played from a music circle? It’s like the time they turned a scoop of ice cream into a thousand tiny balls. You just can’t explain that shit. Acid Baby Jesus is a Linkin Park inspired filthy garage act hailing from the great land of Athens, GR. A while back, they released a tape that made the good folks of WUSB pee themselves with joy and here they are again, but on a music circle! The b-side explores a side of Acid Baby Jesus that we’ve never experienced before, a sludgier, darker slow jam that sounds like it was born in some musty deserted bar in a desolate ghost town down south. I think I just described a scene from Scooby-Doo, so maybe just ignore the strange visual reference and click the play button.

You can get the music circle here from the good folks at Slovenly.

Acid Baby Jesus / It's On Me

Oh man, can you believe they released a video? I think it might be one of the greatest videos of 2010, too. Dunno how I missed this one!

Acid Baby Jesus / Hospitals

The sweet dudes of Acid Baby Jesus enjoyed a nice spot on our top 30 for the few weeks that their S/T cassette was in the studio. Their awesome garage punk jamz took a spot in the hearts of many deejays at WUSB, but what's next for this Athens based band?! They just put up a new jam called Hospitals, which probably won't end up in the studio until there's an official release for it. Hospitals moves to a cleaner, harder sound for the band with the addition of some sweet keys at the end.

Jam of The Day: Acid Baby Jesus - Salt Chunk Mary

You've probably heard me rave on several occasions about one of my favorite bands, Acid Baby Jesus. They're pretty fucking amazing and they have this new tape that's coming out or was just released or something like that. They're a sweet garage-y punk band from Athens and they're fucking awesomeeee! The jam of the day kind of reminds me of the Beets in a way and I kind of like it. One day I will actually see this band and it will be epic! For now, let's just listen to the record which has been burnt to a CD in put in CR1.

NEW JAMZ.

New Jamz will be continued one day! But for now, I've burnt full albums as opposed to the singles. I've stopped being cheap and I'm moving forward in my life. The following will be added to our music library in CR1 under the artist name:
ACID BABY JESUS - UNTITLED TAPE - AWESOME GARAGE / PUNK BAND FROM ATHENS, GR
PILL WONDER - JUNGLE / SURF - AWESOME BAND FROM SEATTLE THAT MAKES WONDERFUL FUN POP JAMZ, KIND OF LIKE THAT BAND ANIMAL COLLECTIVE.
SLEEPIES - UNTITLED LP - REALLY AWESOME PUNK BAND FROM BROOKLYN, NY.
YAWN - SELF TITLED EP - SWEET EXPERIMENTAL BAND FROM CHICAGO! SOUNDS VERY VERY MUCH LIKE ANIMAL COLLECTIVE.

Digital gets physical.

So there's a lot of digital jamz that you don't play because 1. you have no idea how to access it or 2. you have this theory that playing jamz from the pc isn't real deejaying.

WELL, here's a cure for all of you plagued by apathy to playing digital jamz. I will burn a CD with a few good digital jamz everyweek so you can play the jamz regardless of what your dilemma is (unless the CD player stops working again).

ACID BABY JESUS.

So I'm Greek. Totally irrelevant to WUSBEE business, but when I'm in Greece I've realized everyone listens to pretty terrible music. There's really not much variety. Well, fortunately for the Greeks, there is this wonderful band called Acid Baby Jesus from Athens and they sound like Black Lips, King Khan, Strange Boys, Chain & The Gang, etc. Greeks can rock and I feel pretty good about that. You should listen to them. Maybe I'll even attempt to make a physical copy. http://www.myspace.com/acidbabyjesus
